Interestingly, my yoga practice began in 2000 in Vermont years after my studies in Tibetan Buddhism in India in 1988. Yoga has been an important addition to my foundation in Buddhism and my meditation practice; as I have always been very active and cherish the connection of breath, mindfulness and graceful movement that yoga offers for the health of my body, mind and soul. I have experience with a wide variety of styles including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Sivananda and Anusara. I have taken numerous workshops in these traditions over the years. I was 200 HR Yoga Alliance certified by YogaVermont in 2012, and have been teaching yoga ever since. I have a bachelors degree in social work which contributes to my understanding of our human condition and the needs that lead to a heathier, happier life. I have completed Level 2 training in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy (individualized yoga therapy that fosters release of held emotions in the body through present moment awareness while engaging in gentle asanas).
I live in Bridport, Vermont and currently teach Vinyasa Yoga at Otter Creek Yoga in Middlebury and private individualized or semi-private classes at personal homes.
Prior to COVID-19 I taught at Yoga Roots in Shelburne for many years. I co-taught two Yoga Alliance certified Teacher Trainings at Yoga Roots during that time. Unfortunately, Yoga Roots closed in 2020. I have taught meditation at Middlebury College for students and faculty for many years and yoga and meditation at Waldorf High School in Shelburne. I currently teach in Middlebury at Otter Creek Yoga Studio. I am available to teach yoga and meditation for schools, businesses, and individuals upon request; for more information go to the Private Yoga Sessions tab..
